Niño, a former child of the streets, is recently diagnosed with leukemia and committed to turning a new leaf. After his mother catches him leaving for Church in his beater sneakers, she begs him to buy a decent pair for Easter mass by the end of the day. With only $20 to his name, Niño enlists an old friend to help him get the remaining funds through shady means.

Jason Mendoza is a Queens born, first generation filmmaker to Colombian immigrants. He is currently pursuing a BFA in Film and Television at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Jason has been writing and telling stories from the age of 6. He started his production label GoodKid Flicks at 16, where he has written and directed over a dozen short films and one feature film. Jason aspires to continue telling stories and assisting others in executing their vision.
